This project included some of the most complex and high value cases in state history. The project was a new and redesigned interchange connecting the Howard Franklin Bridge, I-275, the Veteran’s Expressway, and Tampa International Airport. Multiple high value office parks suffered takings.

Ferg’s Rails to Trails Case
2024
The case involved four separate parcels of prime real estate located in downtown St. Petersburg. The former railway corridor was blocked from reverting to the property owners and was taken by the United States government. The United States was found liable for the taking in an inverse condemnation. A federal compensation trial followed. Helinger DeYoung got a record win.
